The third exercise in Quiz 16 contained a serious typo, so I'm giving everyone full credit for #3 and grading the quiz only on the basis of the first two problems. Rewrite the problem as (D − 5)3y = 0 if you want to have more fun.

American River College is offering Math 499 for fall semester 2023, a five-unit class on MWF mornings that explains what calculus is, and what calculus does, with an emphasis on the fundamental concepts and a de-emphasis on the technical details and computations. Anyone who can handle basic algebra (e.g., collecting like terms and finding points on an xy grid) should find the material accessible and comprehensible.
